Too hot!

It's way too hot here. It's been in the 90's everyday for 2 weeks. My hens have stopped laying, due to the heat I think. They are a year & a half old so they should be regular egg producers. I really hope this heat breaks soon and we don't have another Summer of 2007. That was the first summer Redwood ever spent in this city and he swore if they were all that bad he was moving! We had terrible heat and drought. All summer the sky would blacken in the afternoon but never rain. There was a stinky egg smell in the city! It seems like a no-brainer to me, but there are still folks who question climate change, despite what science and our own experiences have shown us.

Here's hoping for a break in the heat!

  1. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya. If I could I would send you some of our fog. It's fog-a-licious!

  2. When I was a kid growing up on Hickory Lane, there was a yellow sulfur fog that would blanket the valley nearly every morning. They would tell me it was from a plant where they made TNT for the war in Vietnam. I had thought they no longer made munitions in Chattanooga but I could be wrong.
